The energy system is disconnected from people. Anyone who has invested in a solar installation feeds their surplus into the grid for a few cents and buys the same electricity back in the evening for many times as much. People who rent, and that is around half of all Germans, usually only get solar power from their own building if someone else builds the installation and offers the electricity from it. The electricity is generated on the roof next door, but it does not reach the neighbour. Both sides lose.
